Green Apple Schools

Great news! MDCC PTA has revived its Environmental Committee!!!

p>For 2019-2020, we seek to encourage nine schools to become Florida Department of Environmental Protection Green Apple schools in 2019-2020. Participating schools must complete an application showing demonstrated performance reducing environmental impacts and costs.
School operations are the second biggest cost after teacher salaries and energy efficiency programs alone can reduce electricity costs by 40%. The District will rebate $.75 of every energy dollar saved to your school. Please spread the word to other parents, teachers, and students.

There are currently 3 MDCPS Green Apple Schools, including:
• Pinecrest Elementary
• Palmetto Elementary
• MAST Academy
